Man hammered to death by sibling in Pabna

A 30-year-old man was hammered to death allegedly by his elder brother in Pabna's Ishwardi upazila.

The incident took place at Lakshmikunda village in the upazila on Thursday.
The deceasd was identified as Jipu Sarder, 30, son of Rikat Ali Sarder, a resident of the same village in the upazila.

According to locals, there had been a dispute between Jipu and his elder brother Monirul Islam Sarder over the boundery wall of their home. An altercation was taken place between them over the issue.

As a sequel to the dispute, Jipu hit Moniurl with a hammer first. Later, Monirul hit Jitu's head with a hammer, leaving him critically injured on the spot.

Other family members, rescued them from the spot and took them to a hospital in Rajshahi. Jipu, however, succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Ishwardi Police Station officer-in-charge Shahidul Islam Shahid confirmed the matter.
