Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar on Friday said that the interim government must complete the reform and trial of July-August massacre and hold elections within the announced time.

Speaking as a chief guest at a workers' conference held at Laksam Pilot High School grounds in Comilla jointly organized by Laksam Upazila and Municipality he said, "People's voting rights were taken away during the period of Awami League's dictatorship. Hasina has made a farce with the nation in the name of three elections."
Parwar said, Bangladesh was buried under a giant stone called Hasina for 17 years. For a long time, we could not hold a workers' conference in Laksam in an open environment."

"In 2024, the Bengali nation was liberated through the mass movement of students against discrimination. Today, I am thanking the Almighty for getting this open environment back," he added.

Parwar said that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central leaders and numerous activists have been unjustly killed across the country. The Awami League's torture became unbearable and the entire country became a fire pit.

"Sheikh Hasina's government wanted to remain in power by jailing and oppressing scholars and people who believe in religious sentiments from across the country. But it has been proved that no dictator can cling into power by committing injustice, oppression and torture.

Parwar said, a man-made constitution cannot achieve the welfare of the people without the laws of the Quran and Sunnah. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is working to form a benevolent state in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.

Golam Parwar announced Professor Dr. AKM Syed Sarwar Uddin Siddiqui as the party's (Jamaat's) candidate for the upcoming National Assembly elections in the Laksham-Manoharganj constituency and introduced him to everyone by raising his hand.

Laksam Municipality Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Md. Joynal Abedin Patwary presided over the event, with Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum present as the main speaker.
