A team of representatives from the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) in Thailand has met BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The meeting was held at the Gulshan Chairperson's Office on Friday.
BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said that in this one-hour and 10-minute meeting, detailed discussions were held on the upcoming election issues in Bangladesh.
It is worth noting that the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) is an international, multi-sector, independent and non-political alliance of like-minded organizations working together to advance a common vision.
They work to promote and support democratization in Asia at the national and regional levels. The organization was formed in November 1997.
The main objectives of the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL) are to conduct international election observation missions, to coordinate capacity building programmes for election stakeholders such as democratization, election observation groups, media, and other civil society organizations working for democratization in their respective countries.
It also emphasizes on conducting campaign and advisory activities to address electoral challenges and issues related to democracy development.
ANFREL Executive Director Brija Rosales lead the four-member delegation. Maya Bati, Consultant of Bangladesh Election and Democracy Programme, Tharindu Abearathna, Campaign and Senior Programme Officer, Programme Associate Afsana Ame were among others.
