A teenager died from electrocution at Adarsha Nagar slum area of Banani in Dhaka on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir Rahman, 17, a resident of Adarsha Nagar slum under Banani police station area. He is from Ashura village inder Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district. He worked at a tea stall.
Sabbir’s brother-in-law, Ripon Ahmed, said, ''Sabbir used to work at my tea stall. Around 7 PM, he was playing cricket with friends on the field of Seven-Story Infectious Diseases Hospital at Adarsha Nagar slum area. At some point, he touched a window of the hospital and was electrocuted, falling unconscious.''
On information, family members rescued him and took to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of police camp at DMCH, confirmed that the body is being kept at emergency department's morgue.
Banani Police Station has been informed about the incident, added the police official.
