A Lament for The Scarlet Palestine

Published : Saturday, 19 April, 2025 at 12:00 AM  Count : 1360

Beneath the dome, where prayers ascend,
Al-Aqsa glows, a light to defend.
Yet scarlet sands bear witness still,
To genocide wrought by a tyrant's will.

The ashes of olive trees, steadfast and wise,
Weep for the land beneath bloodied skies.
In Gaza's streets, the children cry,
Their dreams shattered, their hopes denied.

The faithful kneel on sacred ground,
Their whispers rise, a mournful sound.
But boots of steel crush peace below,
And hatred's flames continue to grow.

Ramadan nights bring prayers anew,
Yet stun grenades pierce the holy view.
Rifle butts strike believers'backs,
As soldiers storm with brutal attacks.

Al-Aqsa's walls have seen it all-
Desecration deep and martyrs' fall.
Its sacred stones and fractured dome cry
out in silent grief,
For worshipers robbed of their belief.

From Hebron's hills to Jerusalem's gate,
The Ummah mourns its direst fate.
Settlers plot with reckless zeal,
To shatter the mosque with ruthless steel.

The scarlet desert bears the stain,
Of decades lost in endless pain.
Yet faith endures through trials grim,
As believers chant their sacred hymn.

The crescent moon above still shines,
A beacon for oppressed signs.
Though soldiers bar entry with cruel might,
Al-Aqsa stands in eternal light.

The Ummah gathers from far and near,
Their prayers defy the reign of fear.
For every tear shed on this land,
A thousand voices rise to stand.

The winds of Palestine carry cries,
Of martyrs lost beneath darkened skies.
Their blood nourishes the scarlet sand,
A testament to a stolen land.

Yet hope persists in hearts so true,
Among believers old and new.
Al-Aqsa's dome reflects their fight-
A symbol of justice shining bright.

Against apartheid's brutal scheme,
They hold fast to their sacred dream.
Though history bleeds and scars remain,
Faith revives what tyrants disdain.

In Palestine's heart where freedom calls,
Al-Aqsa stands and never falls.
