Stop Dhaka's unplanned urbanization

Dear sir,

Dhaka has witnessed rapid urbanization. But unplanned urbanization is causing various problems for the city dwellers. It is not only creating infrastructural problems, but also posing environmental, social and economic threats.

Unplanned urbanization has led to housing shortages, traffic congestion, environmental pollution, waterlogging, increased crime, and social unrest in Dhaka. There is a lack of adequate housing for low-income people, which has led to an increase in the number of slums.

To solve these problems, proper urban planning, affordable housing projects for low-income people, expansion of road network, development of public transport system, improvement of waste management, waste control of industries and factories, and greening activities must be undertaken.
