In a series of coordinated raids conducted between April 10 and 17, joint forces led by various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army have arrested 390 individuals across the country. The crackdown resulted in the seizure of a large cache of illegal arms, ammunition, narcotics, and other contraband.
According to a statement shared on the verified Facebook page of the Bangladesh Army, those detained include listed terrorists, robbers, extortionists, fugitive suspects, muggers, teen gang members, drug dealers, and addicts.
During the operations, law enforcers recovered 10 illegal firearms, 46 rounds of ammunition, various types of drugs, locally made weapons, snatched mobile phones and laptops, foreign currency, and cash.
Following preliminary interrogations, all suspects were handed over to respective police stations for further legal proceedings.
In addition to the arrests, army personnel conducted patrols and security activities across the country during the celebration of Pahela Baishakh. Their presence aimed to ensure public safety, particularly in areas affected by incidents of vandalism and looting at business establishments.
