Police official found hanging in Chuadanga

Police recovered the hanging body of a police official from a police barrack of Joynagar Check post under Darshana Police Station in Chuadanga on Friday.

The deceased, Shamim Hossain, 31, son of Hashem Ali, a resident of Jhutiadanga village of Mirpur upazila in Kushtia, is a duty police constable of the check post.
According to police, Shamim used to reside in a room on the second floor of Natun Immigration Buliding. His fellows found him missing at his workplace in the morning.

Later, some of his fellows went to his room and found him hanging from the ceiling and informed high officials.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the body and sent it to Chuadanga General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, said Chuadanga Additional Superintendent of Police (crime and operation) Kanak Kumar Das.

He might have committed suicide, he suspected.

Investigation was underway in this connection, the police official said, adding that police were looking into the matter.
