At least two people, including a van puller, were killed when a passenger bus hit their vehicle in Chuadanga's sadar upazila early Friday.
The accident took place around 5:30 AM on Chuadanga-Jhenaidah Highway in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Sarwar Khondaker, 50, son of Ismail Khondaker Sarwar, a resident of Kutubpur village in the upazila and the van driver Abdur Razzak, 65, son of Moksed, a resident of the same village.
According to locals, Sarwar was heading to Sarojganj market to buy rice on a battery-run-auto-rickshaw. A speedy Dhaka-bound passenger bus, coming from the opposited direction, hit the van, leaving them dead on the spot.
Being informed, a team of police recovered the bodies and sent them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, said Chuadanga Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge.
Police were looking into the matter, the OC added.
