The admission tests for the first year of undergraduate/honours programs under the 2024-25 academic session at Khulna University (KU) kicked off today with the exams for the ‘C’ and ‘D’ units.
According to a press release from KU’s Public Relations and Publications Division, the test for the ‘C’ unit, which covers the Schools of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Education, and Fine Arts, took place from 10 am to 12 pm. The exam was held simultaneously at the Khulna University campus and several other centers in Khulna, including Deldar Ahmed Government Secondary School, Hope Polytechnic Institute, Reverend Paul’s High School, KCC Women’s College, and Government Women’s College. External centers at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) were also used, reports BSS.
A total of 11,027 candidates attended the exam, out of 13,312 registered across the KU and other local centers. Specifically, 7,295 out of 11,381 candidates attended the BUET center, and 5,861 out of 7,551 appeared at the RUET center. In total, 24,183 candidates attended the ‘C’ unit exam out of 32,244 registrants. Additionally, a special drawing test for Fine Arts applicants was held from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
During the exams, KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid Khan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Nurunnabi, Acting Registrar Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, and Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat visited various exam halls and control rooms both at the university and local centers.
Later in the day, the admission test for the ‘D’ unit, representing the School of Management and Business Administration, took place at the KU campus from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. A total of 2,430 candidates attended the test out of 4,154 registered students.
