A new political party named 'Bangladesh Aam Janata Party' has been officially launched under the leadership of Mohammad Rafiqul Amin, the Managing Director of Destiny Group.
Rafiqul Amin will serve as the party's convener, while Fatima Tasnim, a former leaders of the Gano Odhikar Parishad, has been nominated as the member secretary.
The party's unveiling took place at a formal event held on Thursday at the Sheraton Hotel in Banani, Dhaka.
Focusing on the establishment of justice, the rule of law and ensuring freedom of speech and media in Bangladesh, the party presented its manifesto with a strong emphasis on the rights of the people.
At the press conference, Rafiqul Amin stated at the beginning of the declaration, "Even after 54 years of independence, the people of this country continue to struggle against deprivation and inequality. That is why it became necessary for the people to unite and reject autocracy. Bangladesh A-Am Janata Party aims to play a leading role in the fight to realize fundamental and political rights of the people."
