Gas supply will be temporarily cut off for 15 hours on Friday in several areas of the capital.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC announced that the suspension, from 7 AM to 10 PM, is due to the relocation of gas pipelines to align with underground stations (Airport and Khilkhet) of MRT Line-1, part of the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited project.
The affected areas will include industrial, commercial, and captive consumers from Balaka Bhaban in Kawla to Subastu Tower in Shahjadpur, as well as locations like Grameenphone Head Office, North South University, Unique Hotel, U.S. Embassy, Ananta Energy Resource, and Pinnacle Power in the Bashundhara Residential Area.

Residents in neighboring areas such as Nikunja, Khilkhet, Baridhara, Bashundhara Residential Area, Kuril, Jagannathpur, Kalachandpur, and Baridhara Residential Area may also experience gas disruptions. Titas Gas has apologized for the inconvenience caused by this temporary suspension.
