Police has launched a drive to identify and arrest all those involved in the attack on the residence of artist Manabendra Ghosh, said Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooki. The adviser shared the information in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam has directed the IGP to take action against those responsible for the incident.
Farooki blames Hasina's 'allies,' and vows stronger resistance. Farooki says over the past few days some Awami League supporters had been inciting attacks against Manabendra on online platforms, accusing him of 'creating an effigy of Hasina.' All those will be brought under the law, he adds in his FB post.
He says, "This incident comes at a time when Bangladesh has just concluded an unprecedented festival of harmony that stretched from the hills to the plains, leaving a deep emotional feeling in people across the country."
"But those who plotted this act underestimate the strength of the Bangladeshi people. With unity and determination, the people of this country are moving forward and those behind such actions are insignificant in the face of that unity," Farooki adds.
