Worker killed in Kurigram road mishap

A worker of an auto rice mill died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Thursday.

The accident occurred around 7:00 PM at Dakshinpara area on the Phulbari-Kharibari road.

The deceased was identified as Saidul Islam, 50, son of Omar Ali from Kashem Bazar area of Ulipur upazila.

According to locals, Saidul had been working as a labourer at Jobeda Auto Rice Mill in the upazila for a long time.

Returning home from work on Thursday, two motorcycles coming from opposite directions collided head-on and resulted the victim’s spot death.

Confirming the matter, Phulbari Police Station officer-in-charge Shariful Islam said that police have been dispatched to the scene and the body handed over to deceased's family.
