2 killed in Cox'Bazar road crash

At least two people were killed in a road accident in Cox's Bazar's Chakaria upazila on Thursday.

The accident took place around 6:00 PM on Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway at Moyladipo area in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam Shohel, 27, son of Monowar Alam, a resident of Sabet Para in the upazila, and Nuru Ullah, 25, son of Mawlana Jamal Hossain, a resident of the same village in the upazila.

According to locals, a speedy bus belonging to SI Enterprise Paribahan collided head-on with a battery-run-CNG, leaving two people dead on the spot.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent them to Cox's Bazar General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations, said Chiringa Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Ariful Islam.

The bodies were handed over to the deceased's family after legal procedures, the OC added.
