Dhaka University (DU) published results for first-year undergraduate admission tests for Business Studies Unit, with 635 students qualifying for the 120 available seats.
On Thursday, April 17, result posted on the university website at 1:00 PM , show 493 science students and 142 humanities students qualified for admission.
This creates significant competition for the limited places, since there are 95 seats (including quota positions) for science group students and 25 seats for humanities group students (including quota positions).
Professor Mostafizur Rahman, head of DU's Online Admission Office said, "Results for students from Science and Humanities groups under Faculty of Business Studies have been published. There were no errors in their question papers."
Successful candidates must complete detailed information forms and subject preferences online by Saturday, April 19. Unfilled quota positions will be allocated from the main merit list, potentially offering hope to students lower in the rankings.
Business studies group applicants face further waiting, with their MCQ tests scheduled for May 17.
"Their written test marks will be added to MCQ results for final publication," explained Professor Mostafizur Rahman. "Merit lists will remain separate from Science and Humanities groups to avoid confusion."
The admission process experienced delays after significant discrepancies were discovered in 12 questions across different sets in the Business Studies group MCQ section during the original February 8 test date.
University administration struggled to resolve these issues promptly, delaying result publication for Science and Humanities applicants.
