FOC between Bangladesh-Pakistan begins

The Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and Pakistan began on Thursday morning at the Padma State Guest House.

Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin and Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch are leading the Bangladesh and Pakistan sides respectively at the FOC which began around 10:30AM.

This is the first such diplomatic engagement in 15 years.

The last FOC between Bangladesh and Pakistan was held in 2010.
Earlier on Wednesday (April 16), Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch arrived in Dhaka.
The revival of the FOC comes as part of Islamabad's renewed efforts to enhance bilateral ties with Dhaka.
