Three electrocuted in Kishoreganj, Pabna

Three people including a woman were electrocuted in separate incidents in two districts - Kishoreganj and Pabna.

HOSSAINPUR, KISHOREGANJ: A man was electrocuted in Hossainpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Pitalganj Village under Sidla Union of the upazila at noon.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam Annas, son of late Samir Uddin, a resident of the aforesaid area. He was veterinary pharmacy trader by profession.

Local and the deceased's family sources said that Aminul came in contact with live electricity at noon while he was collecting milk from a cow at his farm through electric machine, which left him critically injured.

Locals then then rescued him and rushed to Hossainpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Aminul dead.
Sidla Union Parishad Chairman Qamruzzaman Kanchan confirmed the incident.

ISHWARDI, PABNA: Two persons including a woman were electrocuted while attempting to charge a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Ishwardi Upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Aynul Matabbar, 45, an auto-rickshaw driver from Hatatpara area under Pakshi Union in the upazila, and Fatema Begum, 36, wife of Dulal Mia of MS Colony in the same area.

Pakshi Police Outpost Inspector Shakhiul Azam said the fatal accident took place at around 9 pm at Building No. 9 in the MS Colony. Aynul came in contact with an electric wire while trying to connect his battery-run auto-rickshaw to an electric socket for charging the vehicle. Seeing him in distress, Fatema rushed to assist but was also electrocuted. Both of them died on the spot.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the electrocution. The incident highlights the potential dangers of improper electrical setups often used for charging electric vehicles in residential areas.
