Two persons, including a woman, were tragically electrocuted on Tuesday night while attempting to charge a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna.

The victims have been identified as Aynul Matabbar, 45, a local three-wheeler driver from Hatatpara in Pakshi union, and Fatema Begum, 36, wife of Dulal Mia from MS Colony in the same area.
Pakshi Police Outpost inspector Shakhiul Azam said the fatal accident took place around 9 pm at Building No. 9 in the MS Colony. Aynul came in contact with an electric wire while connecting his auto-rickshaw to an electric socket. Seeing him in distress, Fatema rushed to assist but was also electrocuted. Both died on the spot.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the electrocution. The incident highlights the potential dangers of improper electrical setups often used for charging electric vehicles in residential areas.
