Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserves have reached $26.52 billion, according to a statement released by Bangladesh Bank on Monday.

However, under the IMF's Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6) methodology, which excludes certain encumbered or earmarked funds, the reserves amount to $21.18 billion.
The updated figures come after reserves had earlier crossed the $25 billion mark in March, bolstered by a record inflow of remittances during that month.

The central bank’s dual disclosure reflects growing emphasis on aligning with international standards, particularly under IMF programs, as Bangladesh aims to ensure transparency and accurate reporting of its financial indicators.
