11 accused arrested in the murder case of advocate Saiful Islam Alif have been shown arrested in another case filed under the Explosives Act.
Chattogram's 6th Metropolitan Magistrate SM Alauddin Mahmud passed the order on Tuesday.
The accused are Premanandan Das Buja, 19, Ranbir Das, 24, Bidhan Das, 29, Bikash Das, 24, Rumit Das, 30, Raj Kapoor, 55, Samir Das, 25, Shiv Kumar Das, 23, Om Das, 26, Ajay Das, 30 and Devi Charan, 36.
According to court sources, 11 accused in Advocate Saiful Islam Alif murder case were produced before the court in the morning amid tight security.
The court also granted the application of investigation officer of the case to shown arrested in another case under the Explosives Act.
According to the case statement, Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote spokesperson Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, who was arrested in a sedition case on November 26 last year, was denied bail. When he was taken to prison van to send him to jail, his followers started protesting by blocking the prison van.
Later, police and BGB dispersed the protesters by charging batons and sound grenades. Then the clash began. At that time, the accused attacked lawyers and litigants. Around 20 to 30 vehicles were vandalised in the attack.
Alif's brother Khan Alam filed the case accusing 116 people of attacking lawyers, blasts and vandalism.
The court ordered to shown arrested the 11 accused in the case.
