Police have recovered the body of child from a cornfield at Chatmohar upazila in Pabna district.
The body was discovered around 11 AM on Tuesday (April 15) in a cornfield located at Rampur Gojargari Beel area under Haripur union of the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Jui Khatun, 7, daughter of Zahidul Islam from Boro Garfa village under Jonail union at Boraigram upazila.
According to locals and police sources, Jui had gone missing on the afternoon of April 14. Despite extensive searching, she could not be found. Then, at around 11 AM on Tuesday morning (April 15), locals discovered her body lying in a cornfield and informed the police.
On information, Chatmohar police later recovered the body.
Chatmohar Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Arzuma Akter said that the body has been recovered and a case is currently being processed with the police station.
She added that signs of a corrosive metallic substance, possibly acid, were found on the child's body.
