A man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers' over cutting a banana tree in Barguna's Amtali upazila on Friday night.
The clash incident took place around 8:00 PM at West Sonakhali village of Athargachia union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as M Alamgir Peda, 42, son of the late Monsur Ali Peda, a resident of the same village in the upazila.
The accused are Hossen Peda, Habil Peda, Shaharul Peda also residents of the area.
According to the locals, there had been a dispute between Alamgir Peda and Hossain Peda over planting banana trees.
Abul Peda planted five banana trees at his doorstep.
Habil Peda, loyal to Hossain Peda, claimed ownership of the land and cut down the banana trees on Thursday afternoon.
An altercation was taken place between Alamir and Hossain over the issue.
They, as a sequel to the altercation, ensued a clash when Alamgir came there to resolve the issue between them.
The two groups, at one point, swooped on each others with bamboo sticks and lethal weapons, leaving Alamgir injured on the spot.
Later, family members rescued him and took him to Patuakhali General Hospital where an on-duty doctors declared Alamgir dead upon arrival.
The other injured are currently under treatment at the same hospital.

Islam said that he visited the scene upon receiving news of the murder.
Police on Saturday morning arrested Hossain for his alleged involvement in the incident, the OC said, adding that legal action would be taken against those found involved in the incident.
