Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court on Thursday issued an arrest warrent against 18 individuals, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, who are fugutive, over Purbachal plot scam.
Md Jakir Hossain Galib, Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Court, took the chargesheet into cognisance submitted by the ACC and passed this order.
The court also set 4 May for submitting probe report in the case.
Other accused include Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, sister Sheikh Rehana, her son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby and daughter Ajmina Siddiqui.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case on 12 January against 16 people, including Sheikh Hasina and Saima Wazed Putul.
According to the ACC, Saima Wazed unlawfully obtained a plot despite already owning residential property in Dhaka under Rajuk’s jurisdiction. The charges allege that Sheikh Hasina abused her authority as prime minister to influence officials in securing the allotment.
