A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on former National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Md. Nojibur Rahman, his wife Nazma Rahman, and sons Fuad N A Rahman and Farabi N A Rahman.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order following a petition by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday (April 8).

According to ACC petition, Nojibur Rahman is under investigation for allegedly amassing wealth worth several crores of taka through bribery, corruption and illicit transfer dealings.

ACC expressed concern that Rahman and his family were attempting to flee the country which could hinder the investigation.

To ensure a fair inquiry, the court granted ACC’s request to bar their foreign travel.
