Coast Guard arrested two individuals along with locally made weapons and Yaba pills from Patenga police station area in Chattogram city.
They were arresated from estuary of Karnaphuli channel under Patenga Police Station area around 4AM on Tuesday.
The arrested individuals are Md Wahid Helal, 28 and Junaidul Islam Sami, 26, of Anwara upazila in Chattogram district.
According to Coast Guard sources, acting on a tip-off, a team of coast guard conducted a drive at estuary area of Karnaphuli channel under Patenga Police Station area and detained two individuals along with an engine-driven wooden boat.
During the raid, four locally made weapons and 3,000 pieces of Yaba pills were recovered from their possession.
Patenga Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam said that Coast Guard detained the duo and handed them over to police.
Legal action will be taken against them, added the OC.
