A few days ago, Kareena Kapoor engaged in a conversation with Sex Education star Gillian Anderson about the portrayal of sex on screen and the cultural differences between the East and the West. During their discussion, Gillian Anderson expressed her comfort with intimate scenes, acknowledging the demands of her profession.
When asked about her personal boundaries, Kareena stated that she is not comfortable performing such scenes. "Personally, I feel like sex scenes are not essential to take a story forward. It’s not something I believe is necessary. I am not comfortable doing them on screen," she said.
Highlighting the differences in mindset, Kareena added, "We don't view sexuality or sex as a natural human experience. Before depicting it on screen, we need to start respecting sex more. In India, we are not as open about these topics as in the West, where female desire is tackled more openly."
