BCL leader held in Ctg

Police have arrested a local banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Chattogram on Friday morning.

The arrested individual is Irfan Hasan Mannan Tanim, 40, son of Dr MA Mannan of Paschim Gomdandi area in Boalkhali upazila of Chattogram district. He is a vice-president of Chattogram south district unit of BCL.

He was arrested from Kazir Dewri area of Kotwali police station.

Confirming the matter, Kotwali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Karim said that Tanim was arrested in a drive from Kazir Dewri area of the city.

He was shown arrested in a case filed with Kotwali Police Station and will be sent to jail by order of the court, added the OC.
