A three-tier security measures have been taken in the Port city and its adjacent areas ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
A press release issued by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Public Relations Department confirmed the matter on Friday noon.
CMP's 13 instructions are use additional locks with more security on the door of the house; do not leave cash or gold ornaments in an empty house; taking preventive digital security measures, such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems, etc; deploying additional security personnel at night in residential areas; saving NID cards and photographs of newly recruited security personnel; if any suspicious person roams, inform the local police station immediately; strengthen the security system of banks or any financial institution; supervise the bank's own security personnel to perform their duties with caution; appoint an officer working in their respective institutions in turn to monitor the security system; ensure the coverage of CCTV cameras around the bank's vault and inform the nearest police if any suspicious matter is noticed; ensure that the bank's CCTV cameras are working properly. If necessary, take the help of the nearest police station.
In case of any incident related to deterioration of law and order, immediately inform emergency service-999 or CMP special control hotline- 01320-057998, 01320-054384.
Mahmuda Begum, additional deputy commissioner (public relations) of CMP, said that there will be a three-tier security arrangement in the port city during Eid holidays. This time the joint forces are in the field. Police in plainclothes are also being deployed.
