Housewife died from snakebite in M'singh

A housewife died after being bitten by a venomous snake at Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh district.

The incident occurred at Basutia village under Gafargoan union ithe upazila on Thursday (March 27) afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Josna Begum, 50, wife of Nayem Uddin from the village.

Relatives of the deceased reported that Josna Begum was sweeping her house as usual when she reached to move a clay pot from the floor. At that moment, a venomous snake bit her hand.

Hearing her screeming, family members rushed to the spot and took her to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor declared her dead.

On-duty doctor at Gafargao Upazila Health Complex's emergency department Dr. Rakibul Hasan confirmed the incident and stated that Josna was declared dead after examination.
