2 killed in Kushtia road accidents

Two individuals were killed in two separate road accidents at Doulatpur upazila in Kushtia district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Asmat Ali, 58, son of late Lalu Mondol from Dhormodoho village under Adabaria union in the upazila and Nargis Begum, 55, wife of Motlob Mondol from Mathurapur union in the upazila.

According to witnesses, Asmat was on his way to buy betel leaves at Taragunia bazaar. When he reached Pragpur Bazaar, he was hit by a sand-filled trolley and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Nargis was killed after being hit by a bus while going to the Mathurapur Union Parishad to collect government aid rice.

Doulatpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) confirmed the deaths and said that legal actions are underway in this regard.
