Preparations for this year’s Eid procession are in full swing, according to Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday (March 26) night, he reassured the public that arrangements were progressing rapidly despite time constraints.

''Preparations for the Eid procession are in full swing. Despite time constraints, the Local Government Division, the Ministry of Culture, and the Dhaka North City Corporation are working tirelessly day and night,'' he stated. Adding a touch of intrigue, he further wrote, ''Even the 'Airavat' (elephant) will be part of the procession. Will you be joining?''

The upcoming Eid celebrations in Dhaka North are expected to be larger and more elaborate than in previous years. Addressing a press conference at Buriganga Conference Room in capital's Nagar Bhaban on Sunday, March 23, Adviser Asif Mahmud confirmed that Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will organize the Eid congregation for northern Dhaka residents at old Trade Fair ground in Agargaon.

Authorities estimate that the venue will accommodate hundreds of thousands of worshippers for the Eid prayers.

Following the prayers, a grand Eid procession will take place, designed to reflect the traditions of Sultanate and Mughal eras. This year’s celebrations will also feature an Eid fair and cultural programs, introducing a new and elaborate style of festivities aimed at enhancing the post-fascist era’s celebratory spirit.

With clock ticking towards the much-anticipated occasion, organizers urge public to stay informed and prepare for what promises to be one of the most memorable Eid celebrations in Dhaka’s history.

Further details and updates will be available through official city corporation channels and social media announcements.
