Youth killed, 5 injured in Chuadanga road mishap

A youth was killed and five others injured in a collision between a motorcycle and an easy bike in Chuadanga's sadar upazila on Wednesday night.

The accident took place at Munnamor in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Bipul, 18, son of Aytal Biswas, a resident of Buropara village in the upazila.

According to locals, three youths were heading to Chuadanga town from Sarojganj riding on a motorcycle for shopping. An easy bike,coming from the opposite direction, collided head-on with the motorcycle, leaving six individuals injured on the spot.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where Bipul succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Of the five injured, two were referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital while the remaining three are receiving treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Chuadanga Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Khaledur Rahman said that police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

The body will be handed over to the family after the legal process is completed, added the OC.
