Youth stabbed to death in M'singh

A youth was stabbed to death over a trivial matter in Mymensingh district on Wednesday night.

The victim was Sajeeb, son of Abul Kalam Azad of Hamid Uddin Road of the city. He used to work with his father at their restaurant.
Kotwali police station’s Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam Khan said in the incident, Sajeeb, accused Monty and others were chatting around 11pm. At that time, Sajeeb locked into altercation with Monty over a trifling matter, he said.

At one stage, Monty fetched a sharp weapon from a nearby shop and stabbed Sajeeb indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital where physicians declared him dead upon arrival, he said.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
