Krishak Dal leader hacked to death in Ctg

A Krishak Dal leader was hacked to death allegedly by miscreants at Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram district on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 6:30 PM at Hatilota Chararkul area of ward No 1 at Barabkunda union in the upazila.

The deceased, M Nasir Uddin, 40, son of late Kabir Ahmed, a resident of Barabkunda union in the upazila, is an organising secretary the upazila unit Krishak Dal. 

According to locals, a group of miscreants carried out an attack on Nasir while he was going to his poultry farm after having iftar. The miscreants, at one stage, hacked him with lethal weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the body and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy, said Sitakunda Police Station Additional Superintendent of police ABM Nahian Bari.

Police were looking into the matter, Nahian said, adding that legal action would be taken against those found involved in the incident.
