Dear Sir,
Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing global issues, significantly affecting agriculture, the environment, and public health. In particular, the excessive use of pesticides in Bangladesh's agricultural sector is increasing at an alarming rate, posing a severe threat to soil fertility, water bodies, and the food chain by introducing toxic chemicals. To achieve higher yields and preserve crops, farmers often apply pesticides without proper guidelines. This excessive usage destroys beneficial microorganisms and insects, disrupts the natural balance of the soil, and reduces agricultural productivity. Additionally, groundwater and water bodies become contaminated, endangering aquatic life.
To address this issue, it is crucial to raise awareness among farmers and implement effective pesticide control measures. Promoting eco-friendly pest control methods, reducing the availability of harmful pesticides, and regulating their sales should be prioritized. Through proper planning and coordinated efforts, the negative impacts of climate change can be mitigated, ensuring both agricultural productivity and public health protection.
