Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) celebrated the 55rd Independence and National Day of Bangladesh through different programmes.
CUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan paid homage to the martyrs of 1971 by placing a wreath at the Shaheed Minar on the university's on Wednesday morning, says a press release.
Later, wreaths were also placed on the graves of the martyrs of the Great War of Liberation on the CUET campus.
Besides, on the occasion of Independence Day, the Department of Students' Welfare organized an essay competition for the students of the university.
On the other hand, essay competition was also organized for children and adolescents under the initiative of Staff Welfare Committee.
Among others, Dean of the Faculty of Municipal and Environmental Engineering Prof. Dr. Sudip Kumar Paul, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. AH Rashedul Hossain, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Prof. Dr. Ayesha Akhter, Director of the Department of Students' Welfare Prof. Dr. Md Mahbubul Alam, Security Advisor Prof. Dr. Ashutosh Saha, Additional Director of IQAC Prof. Dr. Md. Sanaul Rabbi, CUET Teachers' Association President Prof. Dr. GM Sadiqul Islam, CUET Officers' Association President Engineer Syed Mohammad Ikram, were present on the occasion.
