On the second day of Eid travel, traffic pressure has increased on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge Highway. Despite the extra traffic, vehicles are moving at a normal speed.
Over the past 24 hours, a total of 29,233 vehicles crossed the Jamuna Bridge, generating a toll collection of Tk 2,57,11,550.
Officials related to the highway reported that traffic pressure on the road has increased on the second day of the Eid journey compared to Tuesday. Specifically, the pressure has increased from Elenga to the Bangabandhu Bridge since morning.
According to the Jamuna Bridge Authority, from midnight Monday to midnight Tuesday, a total of 29,233 vehicles crossed the bridge. Among them, 15,354 vehicles were headed to northern Bangladesh, generating a toll of Tk 1,27,79,100.
Meanwhile, 13,879 vehicles were heading toward Dhaka, generating a toll collection of Tk 1,29,32,450.
Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, Executive Engineer of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office under the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, said that 18 booths—nine on each side of the bridge—are being used for vehicle crossings during the Eid journey. Additionally, there are two booths for motorcycles on each side of the bridge.
