Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has departed Dhaka on Wednesday for China on a four-day official visit.
The special flight carrying Yunus and his delegation took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 1 pm, as confirmed by his Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad.
During his visit, Prof Yunus is scheduled to address the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) on March 27, where he will discuss the evolving role of Asia in the global context. Additionally, he is expected to hold meetings with the CEOs of leading global and Chinese corporations on the sidelines of the forum.
On March 28, Prof Yunus will engage in his first bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, where they will discuss matters of mutual interest between Bangladesh and China.
The following day, March 29, Prof Yunus will deliver a lecture at Peking University, where he will also be awarded an honorary doctorate degree. Furthermore, he plans to meet with representatives from Chinese hospital chains to explore opportunities for establishing joint venture hospitals in Bangladesh.
Prof Yunus is scheduled to return to Bangladesh later on March 29.
