Tarique warns of conspiracy to pit army against people

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has raised serious concerns about the current political situation in the country, warning of a conspiracy aimed at discrediting the military and creating a divide between the armed forces and the people.

Addressing an iftar program virtually on Monday, Tarique claimed that efforts were being made to manipulate the military’s image, potentially turning it against the public. He stated, “There seems to be a deliberate attempt to make the army controversial and provoke conflict with the people.”

The iftar event, organized by the BNP media cell, was held in honor of journalists from various media outlets, including print, electronic, and online platforms. During his address, Tarique urged patriotic citizens to unite in order to thwart the alleged conspiracy.

He pointed to recent attempts to stir division within the country, citing earlier efforts to create conflict between reforms and elections. He argued that similar tactics are now being used to turn the military against the citizens. “There’s clearly a plot behind this attempt,” he said, emphasizing that the situation could be countered if the country’s patriotic citizens remain vigilant and united.

Tarique called on journalists to play a key role in exposing the conspiracy by providing accurate and truthful information. He expressed confidence that the plot could be foiled if the media helps clarify the issues and eliminate the confusion surrounding them.
