National Citizen Party’s Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam has called on voters to choose candidates who uphold their commitments in the next election, rather than voting based on party affiliation.
Speaking at a rally at Bijoy Ekattor Chattor in Debiganj, Panchagarh, on Monday, he urged the people to support leaders who act with integrity and work for the betterment of the country.
"Don’t vote just for a party or symbol—vote for those who stay true to their promises and work for the people. The country will progress only if we work selflessly," Sarjis said.
He further vowed that his party would stand against oppression, extortion, and the corrupt syndicates that exist in the system, accusing political leaders of exploiting ordinary citizens for decades.
Sarjis also urged voters not to accept money from candidates, stating:
"Those who try to buy your vote will never work for you. Reject such offers and choose honest leadership."
Earlier in the day, he arrived at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari and traveled to Debiganj in a motorcade of over a hundred vehicles. Later in the evening, he was scheduled to attend an Iftar event in his home village in Atwari upazila.
