Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman stated on Sunday that the injured individuals from the July Uprising are the nation's proud sons and daughters, and the Bangladesh Army will always stand by them.

He made this statement on Sunday evening at an Iftar and dinner event organized by the Bangladesh Army at Sena Malancha in Dhaka Cantonment, held in honor of those injured in the July uprising.
During the event, the Army Chief interacted with the injured students, inquiring about their well-being and offering words of encouragement.

Addressing the injured, General Waqar-uz-Zaman said, “Never lose hope. There is nothing to be disheartened about. Many of you have lost mobility or vision, but I assure you that we will always stand by your side.”

He further stated,“This Iftar arrangement and financial support are dedicated to you. Our assistance will continue in every possible way. We are actively working toward your rehabilitation. Do not lose your morale, as you are the nation's heroes. You have made great sacrifices for this country and its people. We extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to you. Rest assured, the Bangladesh Army will always be there for you.”

The event was attended by students injured in the July uprising, senior army officials, distinguished civilian dignitaries, and directors of various government hospitals.

At the end of the event, the Bangladesh Army distributed Eid gifts among the injured students present.

As of Sunday, a total of 4,215 injured individuals from the July uprising have received medical treatment at various Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) across the country.
