Man commits 'suicide after killing wife, daughter' in Gazipur

The bodies of a man, his wife and child were recovered in Gazipur's Kashimpur on Sunday.

Police believe that the man committed suicide by hanging himself after killing his wife and child.
Their bodies were recovered in the morning from Gobindabari Dewanpara area under Kashimpur Police Station in Gazipur.

The dead were Nazmul Islam, 29, hailed from Sakhipur upazila of Tangail, his wife Khadija Akter, 22, and their four-year-old daughter Nadia Akter. Police said Nazmul had no profession and was a drug addict.

Police further said that Nazmul Islam used to live with his wife and child in his in-laws' house in Gobindbari area of ​​Gazipur city. They had been having family disputes over various issues for a long time. They often quarreled over these issues.

On Saturday night, around 11:30 pm, they fell asleep. The next day, when they did not wake up, the family members started calling them at around 6:30 am. When they did not hear anything, they pulled open the back window of the house and saw Nazmul's body hanging. Later, they broke the door of the house and saw the bodies of Khadija and Nadia lying on the bed.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Kashimpur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Iftekhar Hossain said, "Upon receiving information, the police recovered the bodies of the dead around 10 am and sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital morgue. Legal action will be taken in this regard."
