Bangladesh women's national football team star player Rituparna Chakma revealed an unexpected matter relating to her home and the local administration's unfulfilled promise to build and hand over her home in Rangamati in a Facebook post on Saturday.

The upset midfielder suspected that a group was to be blamed for the issue.

Rituparna who was an important member of the SAFF Women's Championship winning team in 2022 and 2024 was promised to get a home built by the local administration during the reception ceremonies, both times. But that promise is yet to be fulfilled.

On Saturday morning, Rituparna wrote on her verified Facebook page that the Rangamati district administration accorded a royal reception to five of the members of the SAFF winning team from the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

She wrote that the Deputy Commissioner went to their home in the village and inspected their living condition and the way there. Although they built a home for Rupna Chakma, another SAFF-winning footballer from Rangamati as promised, the promised home for Rituparna Chakma was yet to be built.

She added, "Sadly, nothing happened. Anyway, I didn't care about that anymore. There was no remorse. The year 2022 is gone. I forgot everything and focused on my career. In 2024, Bangladesh became SAFF champion for the second time. I won the best player award there. For the second time, we celebrated together."

"Like 2022, the local administration accorded us another reception this time. I had a firm belief that the new administration in new Bangladesh would fulfil the promise and build houses and repair the roads."

She wrote that she was happy and grateful to the administration that they had finally taken the initiative to build her a house. However, she was unhappy to learn that some quarters were trying to obstruct the task!

With frustration, she asked, "So, is there no place for me in my Ghagra (A union in Rangamati)? Now I regret that I have been playing for and representing the country since 2017. How did I get the appreciation from the people of my district?"
