Shampa Akter's story of resilience

Sometimes, a single right decision can change an entire life. The story of Shampa Akter and her family is a perfect example of this. One day, a tragic road accident took the life of her husband, Zakir Hossain, who was the sole breadwinner of their family. They had a happy life with their two children, but after his sudden passing, Shampa Akter found herself in deep uncertainty about how to take care of her children and manage her household.

In the midst of her distress, one decision made by Zakir Hossain during his lifetime turned out to be life-changing. He had taken out a life insurance policy worth BDT 2 million (20 lakhs). He had paid only BDT 32,000 in premiums before his passing. Yet, within just three days, the insurance company paid the full sum of BDT 2 million, providing Shampa Akter with the financial security to rebuild her life.

Zakir Hossain owned a piece of land and a shop, but the shop was mortgaged. Shampa Akter shared, "I used BDT 10 lakh from the insurance payout to reclaim the shop. Now, I receive monthly rent from it. The rest of the money has been put into Insurance Company as fixed deposits. " By making these financial decisions, she ensured both a reliable income for her family and a secure future for her children's education and well-being.
