One professional black-marketer held with 21 railway tickets

Dhaka Railway Police,as part of the campaign against black marketing of train tickets, arrested a person along with 21 tickets from Kamalapur Railway Station on Friday.

The arrested, Rakib Mia, 24, is a professional black marketer of railway tickets.
A press release, issued from Railway Police, confirmed the matter.

A team of Railway Police, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive in the railway station and arrested him around 6:00 AM.

Police also recovered 21 railway tickets from his possession, the release said.

The arrested has advertised on different social networking sites including Facebook to sell the ticket to the passengers at a higher price than the actual one.

Rakib opened five railway service apps using his own NID and mobile number and four other NIDs and mobile numbers to collect inter-city train tickets online on various routes including Dhaka to Kishoreganj.

Afterward he sold the tickets to interested passengers through the Facebook page called Kishorganj Train Ticket Buy Sell and Exchange and then send a PDF copy of the ticket to the customer over mobile phone.

A regular case was registered with Dhaka Railway Police Station in this connection, the release added.
