Man arrested for attempting to rape

A man was arrested for attempting to violate a schoolgirl in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur on Wednesday.

The arrested is Moselm Uddin, 65, of Maizpara village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station Joynal Abedin Mandal said that Moselm took a schoolgirl near his home and tried to violate the girl.

Hearing her screams, local people caught him red-handed and beat him up before handing him over to the police. A case was filed in this regard, the OC added.
