One held for violating fourth grader at Santhia

SANTHIA, PABNA, Mar 21: Police arrested a young man for violating a fourth grader girl in Santhia Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The arrested man is Akash Hosain, 23, a resident of Gopinathpur Village in the upazila.

According to the case statement, first, the victim's mother found her daughter locked inside a room in Gopinathpur Village on Wednesday afternoon. Later on, she shouted for help and neighbours rushed to the scene to rescue the victim.

Earlier, the accused Akash, who allegedly raped the victim inside the room, broke the door and managed to flee the scene.

The victim was then admitted to Santhia Upazila Health Complex at around 9 pm. Later, the on-duty doctor referred her to Pabna Sadar Hospital for advance treatment.

On Thursday, the victim's mother lodged a complaint with Santhia Police Station.
