Two men were electrocuted in separate incidents in two districts - Natore and Noakhali.
SINGRA, NATORE: A farmer was electrocuted while irrigating his cropland in Singra Upazila of the district on Friday.
Deceased Anwar Hossain, 48, son of late Ismail Hossain, was a resident of Udisha Village under Chhatardighi Union in the upazila.
Quoting locals, Chhatardighi Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdur Rouf Badsha said that Anwar came in contact with live electricity in the morning while he was irrigating his cropland through electric water pump, which left him critically injured.
Anwar was then rescued and taken to a village doctor, where he was declared dead, the UP chairman added.
NOAKHALI: A trader was electrocuted in Senbag Upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Jamal Uddin, 47, son of Oli Ahmed, a resident of Uttar Mohammadpur Village in the upazila.
According to local sources, Jamal came in contact with live electricity at around 10 pm while he was touching an electric water pump during irrigation, which left him critically injured.
Later on, he was rescued and taken to Senbag Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Senbag Police Station Zakir Hosain confirmed the incident.
