Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Thursday announced that it will hold its first-ever Eid celebration, highlighting the nation's rich and diverse cultural heritage.
The event, titled ''Elo Khushir Eid'', will take place on March 30 at the Nandan Moncho from 7 pm, celebrating ''Chand Raat'' (the night before Eid).
The academy has shared a poster of the event, though detailed information remains pending. However, Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki made the announcement on social media, highlighting the significance of the celebration. "For the first time, Shilpakala Academy is hosting an Eid celebration. Bangladesh is a land of many languages, beliefs, and religions," he wrote on Facebook.
Farooki further emphasized the inclusive nature of the celebration, noting, "Everything in the diverse society we live in is a part of our culture. Bangladesh will celebrate it all! The politics of division are no longer welcome here."
The announcement has been widely shared, with support from CA Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and many netizens, who have praised BSA's decision to host such a diverse and unifying event for the first time.
